Word of Encouragement
“Postured for the Promise"
"And it came to pass in process of time, that the king of Egypt died: and the children of Israel sighed by reason of the bondage, and they cried, and their cry came up unto God by reason of the bondage. And God heard their groaning, and God remembered his covenant with Abraham, with Isaac, and with Jacob. And God looked upon the children of Israel, and God has respect unto them."
With our local governments and Public Health advisors asking us to stay at home to keep the corona virus from spreading, it feels like captivity. What they are asking is the right thing, but I’m reminded of the Children of Israel when they were in captivity in Egypt (Ex. 1-12). Many of us, Christians and non-Christians have been decreeing and declaring God’s words over our families and friends. As Christians, we know that God is moving on our behalf and we are faithfully waiting for Him to deliver us. But for the moment, we are stuck in this place, unable to move forward. This has been a difficult place to be, but I must tell you that it has been a place of preparation. While we are in this place let us remove long-standing hurts and offenses of the past. For those of you who have not given up in this time of waiting, this is your set time! The move from captivity will be sudden. And God will make the enemy pay back all that was stolen in seasons past. God wants us to remember what the Prophet Elisha declared in 2 Kings 7:1, “…about this time tomorrow…” it will be as it has been. And the Prophet Elijah said to his servant in 1 Kings 18:43, “…go look again…” Keep your eyes looking toward Heaven and you will see those long awaited promises begin to form like a cloud about the size of a man’s hand.
